While many travelers instinctively head North to the mountains or South to the famous islands, the East of Bangkok is a hidden treasure trove for those in a motorhome. This route, often called the "Fruit and Gem Coast," offers a perfect blend of modern infrastructure, pristine National Parks, and some of the most beautiful coastal roads in Southeast Asia.
Because our fleet consists of officially registered RVs, you have the legal freedom to park in stunning seaside spots and lush forest reserves that are often inaccessible to standard tour groups.

The Route: The Fruit & Gem Coast
Total Distance: ~250–300 km (Bangkok to Trat)
Recommended Duration: 4–5 days
Road Conditions: Flat coastal highways and the famous "Chalerm Burapha Chonlathit" scenic road.
Stage 1: Chonburi & The Seaside Escape
Just 90 minutes from the city, the landscape opens up into the Gulf of Thailand.
Top Attraction: Bang Saen & Khao Kheow Open Zoo. Before hitting the beach, take your RV through the Khao Kheow Open Zoo. It’s a "drive-through" safari where you can see giraffes and rhinos from your window.
Where to stay: Head to Serene Phla in nearby Rayong. It’s a dedicated RV-friendly resort with full power hookups, clean showers, and a private beach area. It’s the perfect "soft landing" for your first night on the road.

Stage 2: Rayong & The Fruit Orchards
Rayong is the agricultural heart of the East, famous for its tropical fruits and long, quiet stretches of sand.
Top Attraction: Suan Son Beach. This road is lined with towering pine trees that create a natural tunnel for miles. It is one of the most Instagram-worthy drives in Thailand.
The RV Advantage: Stop at a local orchard like Suan Supatraland to stock your RV fridge with fresh durian, mangosteen, and rambutan. Having your own kitchen means you can prepare a chilled fruit platter to enjoy while parked right under the pines at Suan Son.

Stage 3: Chanthaburi & The Scenic "Dream Road"
This is the highlight for any driving enthusiast. Chanthaburi offers a mix of French colonial history and rugged coastline.
Top Attraction: Chalerm Burapha Chonlathit Road. This is officially one of the most beautiful roads in Thailand. It curves along the coastline, offering panoramic views of the ocean on one side and mountains on the other.
The Stop: Noen Nangphaya Viewpoint. Park your motorhome at the top of the cliff for a sunset coffee. Because you have the legal right to stay in scenic areas, you can take your time without worrying about the last bus back to a hotel.

Stage 4: Trat & The Gateway to the Islands
Trat is the easternmost province, bordering Cambodia, and is the jumping-off point for the Koh Chang archipelago.
Top Attraction: Black Sand Beach (Hat Sai Dum). One of only five black sand beaches in the world. It’s a unique natural wonder surrounded by a lush mangrove forest.
The Island Option: You can drive your motorhome directly onto the Koh Chang Ferry. Waking up in your own bed on a tropical island is the ultimate "Van Life" experience.

Pro-Tips for Your Eastern Journey
Gems and Jewelry: Chanthaburi is the world's hub for colored gemstones. Visit the "Gem Weekend Market" to see how rubies and sapphires are traded—it’s a fascinating cultural experience.
Seafood Feast: The East is famous for "Blue Swimming Crab." Buy them fresh at a local market and use your RV's external gas stove to steam them for a seaside dinner.
National Park Access: Don't miss Namtok Phlio National Park. It features a stunning waterfall full of "Soro Brook Carp" (fish) that you can swim with. The park has excellent, secure parking for larger motorhomes.
